And the news goes on and on. Messi has been breaking records, proving his haters wrong and ending every debate. The game of football is stable on a few players, and Lionel Messi is one of the most prominent ones. The Argentinian captain picked up pace fast despite starting the season slowly.
The award ceremony of ‘The Best FIFA Men’s Player’ was at the renowned Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France. The top three nominees for the award were Karim Benzema, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi. Lionel Messi overwhelmingly topped the vote, having uplifted Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar 2022. He showed up at the ceremony with his wife, Antonella Rocuzzo. The couple always rocks the black colour at events.
Lionel Messi stole the show by winning the ‘Best FIFA Men’s Player award. England’s head coach Gareth Southgate, Germany’s Hansi Flick and Morocco’s boss Walid Regragui all chose Messi as The Best FIFA Men’s Player. The player posted his picture on his Instagram account just after the ceremony. In the post, he writes, “Thanks to everyone who made it possible for me to win this award. To all of the @afaseleccion, my family and friends, and the 45 million Argentinians who trusted us…” The winner also congratulated other players, “And congratulations to all the winners of FIFA, especially to Lionel Scaloni and Emi Martinez, who both deserved their awards. A hug to all. See you soon!!”

Surprisingly, this is not it; the list keeps going. Lionel Messi is the only player with Karim Benzema to score in 18 consecutive Champions League Games.

The Argentinian star is also the new favourite for the Ballon d’Or. Lionel Messi definitely deserves his eighth Ballon d’Or after winning so many titles for his country and club.
